monochrom's ISS is a eleven-part improv-reality-sitcom about living and working on the International Space Station. The four actors playing the ISS crew must develop strategies on the fly in response to surprise situations, which are loosely based on actual ISS data uncovered by monochrom. The show depicts day-to-day working life in outer space. What is it like to live and work under the special conditions (and impairments) of a space station, to come to terms with weightlessness and the dictatorship of the functional? What is one to do, when any little sneeze costs 150,000 dollars? And all the while the national debt is continually setting new record highs. How, under such conditions, can you deal with having banal little everyday problems, and with (not) solving them?
