Written in two parts with an Aaronic Priesthood aged audience in mind, Upon You My Fellow Servants is the first book by Nathan K. Nelson. Part One leans on a framework provided by the new Young Men's theme and provides insights into the foundational doctrines and principles related to the Aaronic Priesthood including the divinely appointed role of John the Baptist as the Elias of the preparation; an understanding of the preparatory nature of the Aaronic Priesthood including its sacred purpose to prepare people for the coming of the Lord; as well as the purpose of priesthood keys including the relationship between ministering angels and Aaronic Priesthood holders as they administer the gospel of repentance and of baptism. Furthermore, the author discusses the need to parent priesthood potential in both young men and young women enabling them to understand and embrace their unique and sacred roles in harnessing the power of the Aaronic Priesthood. Part Two focuses on developing leadership within Aaronic Priesthood quorums by following patterns exemplified by the prophet Helaman and his army of young men. Helaman was a man who understood the power of the preparatory priesthood and who effectively demonstrated principles that harnessed the power and potential of his young army. These patterns seek to provide practical applications that can help Aaronic Priesthood holders, parents, and leaders to work together to accomplish the purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood in their families and neighborhoods.
