This particular volume of the Munich Social Science Review, New Series, is as an application-oriented supplement to the book "Scissors and Rock: Game Theory for Those Who Manage" by Manfred J. Holler and Barbara Klose-Ullmann (Springer 2020). The authors explain in a reader-friendly way, enriched with anecdotes and history, fundamental game-theoretical ideas and basic models that business people, consultants, and public decision-makers should know in theory and practice. Our particular volume collects the latest hands-on findings from the field of game theory, being relevant for practical applications of the field and tested to be successful in everyday business life. The Institute for Applied Mechanism Design (IFAMD), a strategy consultancy, has been applying precisely these findings to its customers' business practices for almost 20 years, demonstrating the practical success of game theory in everyday business life. A second motivation for this particular volume is the expert network of the Adam Smith Seminar of the Center of Conflict Resolution, CCR Munich. Manfred Holler has orchestrated the Adam Smith Seminar and has offered a forum – since 2020 as a regular online seminar with a worldwide reach where a diverse group of eminent scholars present their latest research to a distinguished circle of experts.
