The contributions to this volume provide new experiences in hydrocarbon exploration, especially to basin analysis methods and risk assessment by computer modelling. New approaches in risk-weighting are performed by Monte Carlo simulations, by application of expert-system technology but also by taking into account the importance of man-made mechanical effects, resulting from stress-sensitivity measurements from log and core data.
