So we can say that everyone who speaks is able to draw from earliest childhood onwards, whether they then continue to do so or not. But most of us are convinced that we cannot draw right now, that we have to learn the skill. In fact, it is not a matter of skill at all, it is a matter of self-confidence. Drawing has nothing to do with copying what you see, it is much more a matter of an expressively formed trace of what you cannot imagine because it is too close to you.
