Le DEAF est un ouvrage fondamental de recherche qui traite le lexique ancien français de façon exhaustive. The DEAF covers the entire vocabulary (including regional variants from Anglo-Norman to Franco-Italian) of Old French texts from the earliest documents to the mid-14th century, listing all meanings and situating the material etymologically and historically in terms both of the development of the vocabulary of French and the development of the Romance languages in general.
