Before I Go

We sat there on the balcony, souls joined to the ever present now. Suffering had left me for more than a year. Father Sun, mild and mellow, paced majestically to his violet red home far in the west, accompanied by chants sweet and soft from birds sitting in trees, swaying in the rhythm of a tender evening breeze. After sunset and before the frogs start with their own concert, there is a silence, a total stopping of the world's breath – a magical moment of nothingness containing all. I asked myself, will there be something left to do for me, if I face the end of all days. At first, I did not find anything, but slowly, from the very depth a notion came and formed the idea of before I go. In the beginning, this task was easy going – as any new work. However, by going through the 10 basic aspects of human evolution, I had to re-experience them, not in a mood of non-attachment, but in real human life. Life responds to any doing – mostly in a way we do not foresee. I do not blame, but thank existence for these experiences. In each moment, if anything is dark and fearsome, when the slim slow rider is on his way, there is one blessing left for everybody: The love for and from our mother Earth, who feeds us every single moment.
